A community-driven contemporary arts institution in-the-making
Our mission is to cultivate and congregate intellectual and artistic excellency to foster an engaged civil society in Armenia.
The Conceptual Framework
We want to redefine the model of the traditional arts institution in Armenia.
Built around the concept of a station, Art Station is a meeting point for people to gather, draw from the resources, and embark in new directions charged by new knowledge.
Art Station will consist of:
a specialized arts library (Platform 1)
a community lab for project-based programming (Platform 2)
a public square for exhibiting, performing, and more (Platform 3)
The first Art Station will be located in Yerevan, Armenia.
The Development Model
Platform 1: The Arts Library (in progress)
Knowledge is the starting point to all innovations, and our arts library is the pillar of our institution. We aim to build the most specialized arts library in Armenia, with a core collection that consists of contemporary visual and performing arts books published after 1990 from around the world.
Platform 2: The Community Lab (planned)
Our community lab is where our resources and community members will convene to produce project-based solutions. On-going workshops, seminars, lectures, discussions, and other programs will be organized that pair our library’s resources with local and global issues important to our community, using arts education as a driving force for project ideation and implementation.
Platform 3: The Public Square (planned)
Our public square is where we will share the innovations of the Art Station with the public. Events like film screenings, performances, exhibitions, book presentations, and more create an opportunity to share the outputs of our art library and community lab.

Art Station is a registered foundation in Armenia that offers a comprehensive collection of materials on visual and performing arts including physical books and digital resources.
The library is designed to be proactive, meaning its influence will not just be felt within its physical space, but also within the community, extending its reach into schools, organizations, institutions, and the public at large to promote arts education, creativity, alternative ways of seeing and interacting with the world, and developing open minds, critical thinking skills and stronger communities.
